Scholarships for Music & Performing Arts

BRENTWOOD COMMUNITY FOUNDATION TERRALYN WALTERS-SWIFT AND KATRINA WALTERS-SWIFT MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP

Two $2,500 scholarships will be awarded to two students pursuing a degree in the field of music at an accredited university. Requirements: 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. These scholarships were created in loving memory of Aubrey Earl Swift and funded by a personal contribution from Terralynn Walters-Swift, the widow of Aubrey Earl Swift.

BRENTWOOD COMMUNITY FOUNDATION VIRGIE MAE DAWKINS MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP

Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to two students pursuing a degree in the field of music at an accredited university. Requirements: 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale. This scholarships was established in 2020 in loving memory of Virgie Mae Dawkins and funded by a personal contribution from Mary Dawkins and Maxine Dawkins, the daughters of Virgie Mae Dawkins.

BRENTWOOD COMMUNITY FOUNDATION ROBERT O. CHAMBERS AND LORRAINE CHAMBERS MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP

One $1000 scholarship will be awarded to a 2023 high school graduate or undergraduate pursuing a degree in the field of music at an accredited university. Requirements: 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale; minimum 250-word essay on the topic “What inspired me to pursue a degree in the music field.” This scholarship was created in 2023 in loving memory of Robert O. Chambers and his dedication to gospel music. It is funded by personal contributions from friends and family of Lorraine Chambers & the late Robert O. Chambers.
