ABOUT THE FOUNDATION
The MarShon Brooks Foundation
MarShon Brooks, a 2007 graduate of Tucker High School, is a professional basketball player that was drafted in the first round of the 2011 NBA Draft out of Providence College by the Boston Celtics.
He began his career with the New Jersey Nets (now Brooklyn Nets) and spent time playing for the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers before embarking on an international playing career. During his playing career, MarShon has always maintained a close connection to the people and places that have helped make him into the man he is today.
In an effort to serve the communities that have provided so much to MarShon throughout the years, the Brooks Family has created the MarShon Brooks Foundation, Inc. a certified 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization. The MarShon Brooks Foundation has awarded scholarships to student athletes from Tucker High School and donated to the City of Decatur Recreation Center.

THE NEXT PHASE
For the MarShon Brooks Foundation
To award scholarships to student athletes from Providence College and partner with the YMCA and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.
To further its mission of promoting education and active lifestyles, the MarShon Brooks Foundation will also organize and host athletic and enrichment camps for young people as well as promoting other recreational activities throughout the community. Given that MarShon was raised by a single working mother, Darlyn Brooks, the MarShon Brooks Foundation will provide financial assistance for after-school care and activities to keep children safe in a supervised environment.
