BRENTWOOD COMMUNITY FOUNDATION ROBERT O. CHAMBERS AND LORRAINE CHAMBERS MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP
One $1000 scholarship will be awarded to a 2023 high school graduate or undergraduate pursuing a degree in the field of music at an accredited university.
Requirements: 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale; minimum 250-word essay on the topic “What inspired me to pursue a degree in the music field.” This scholarship was created in 2023 in loving memory of Robert O. Chambers and his dedication to gospel music. It is funded by personal contributions from friends and family of Lorraine Chambers & the late Robert O. Chambers.

This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a 2023 high school graduate who plans to major in the field of education at an accredited four year college or university.
Requirements: 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. This award was created by Deacon Ivy Levingston to encourage the best and brightest high school graduates to plan for a career in education, and who believe in the concept of “growing your own” teachers.

BRENTWOOD COMMUNITY FOUNDATION HERRINGTON LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP
The one-time $3,000 scholarship will be awarded to a 2023 high school graduate to pursue a degree in the field of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) at an accredited four-year college or university. Students should emphasize how they plan to pursue this interdisciplinary approach to their college studies.
Requirements: 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale; an overall 3.0 average in mathematics and science courses. This award was created and funded by personal contributions from the Herrington family.

BRENTWOOD COMMUNITY FOUNDATION ABA GAYLE WILEY SCHOLARSHIP FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES*
One $2,000 scholarship will be awarded to a student with a physical disability who is a 2023 high school graduate or an upper classman.
This award was created through a personal donation by Aba Gayle Wiley for students with physical disabilities.

The Brentwood Baptist Church Scholarship is a $1,000 one-time award given to a 2023 high school graduate.
Requirements: A member of Brentwood Baptist Church for at least one year prior to the time of application. A 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

This $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to a student who is currently enrolled in an accredited university which offers an engineering program
Requirements: 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale. This award was created in 2007 by Rodney and Marion Wilson to encourage students to pursue studies in the field of engineering.

One $ 3,000 ($ 1,500 per semester) will be awarded to 2023 high school graduate to pursue higher education at an accredited four-year college or university in a major of his/her choice. The student must maintain a 3.0 GPA to receive the award for the second semester.

Requirements: 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Minimum 500 word essay on the topic “Changes in My Life.” The essay should include the applicant’s description of an event in his/her life that significantly altered his/her direction and achievement goals for life. The essay should be a reflection of the applicant’s narrative and descriptive writing abilities. This scholarship is funded by Johnny L. The Brentwood Community Foundation Academic Scholarship for $4,000 will be awarded over a four-year period to a 2023 high school graduate to attend an accredited four-year college or university. A minimum 3.0 GPA must be maintained to receive the annual award. This award cannot be combined with any other scholarship award from Brentwood Community Foundation.

The Reuben Wheatley Memorial Scholarship will fund three awards of $2,500 each, to three 2023 high school graduates to pursue a degree in the field of their choice at an accredited four-year college or university. The recipients must be enrolled full-time with a minimum of 12 credit hours.
The family of Reuben Wheatley funds these two memorial scholarships in honor of their patriarch whose priorities, instilled by his parents, remained intact throughout his life: God, family, friends, and fun. Reuben, a financial supporter of the Brentwood Community Foundation Scholarship Program for over twenty years, truly believed in funding the “Village” legacy.

The essay should be a reflection of the applicant’s narrative and descriptive writing abilities. This scholarship is funded by Johnny L. BRENTWOOD COMMUNITY FOUNDATION ALMA JUANITA JONES STUDENT ATHELETE EXCELLENCE AWARD
One award of $2,500 will be given to a recent high school graduate, undergraduate or graduate student to pursue the degree of choice. A preference is given to a student-athlete enrolled in a Houston area college or university with a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester. The student will receive $1,250 for the first semester and based on submission of a progress report by the student after the first semester, the remaining $1,250 scholarship balance will be awarded.
Requirements: No minimum GPA requirement. This award was created and funded by David Fitzgerald Jones in honor of his mother to recognize outstanding students for their achievements and commitment to education and athletics.

Requirements: 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. These scholarships were created in loving memory of Aubrey Earl Swift and funded by a personal contribution from Terralynn Walters-Swift, the widow of Aubrey Earl Swift.

This $ 3,000.00 will be awarded $ 1,500.00 per semester to a 2023 high school graduate pursuing a degree in education at an accredited HBCU. Priority will be given to students who plan to become a teacher, counselor and/or administrator. Students currently pursuing certification as a counselor or administrator are eligible for this award.
Requirements: 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale. The Dorothy Gabriel Scholarship is funded by Dorothy Gabriel to encourage students to plan for a career in education
